Garden Manor Nursery School

2005-04-15 / Community

Garden Manor Nursery School’s mission is to nurture and educate young children in a warm and caring atmosphere. Children are encouraged to expand their natural curiosity, to build positive self esteem and to learn to interact with others. The boys and girls have had a busy March decorating the room with their green shamrocks and St. Patrick’s Day decorations. Despite the continuing winter weather, they are also transforming their rooms from snow scenes to spring flowers.

In April the children will travel by bus to Hofstra University to see the play “Curious George.” In May, the classes will go the Garden City Library for a special story hour. Graduations in June will be here before we know it.

It’s not too late to sign up for classes. Garden Manor is continuing to accept registrations for the September 2005-June 2006 school year. For three year olds, there are still spaces in the Tuesday & Thursday (9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.) program and the Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (12:30 - 3 p.m.) program. For four year olds, there are spaces in the Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (12:30 - 3 p.m.) and the Monday through Thursday (12:30 - 3 p.m.) programs. The Monday, Wednesday, Friday (9 - 11:30 a.m.) class and the Monday through Friday (9 - 11:30 a.m.) classes have limited availability.

To ask questions or to register, please call Head Teacher Dorothy Pedersen at 775-2626. Boys and girls must be 3 or 4 years old by December 1, 2005 to begin school in September.

Garden Manor Nursery School is located at 33 Jefferson Street in Garden City, three blocks west of New Hyde Park Road in Christ Episcopal Church.
