5th Grade Rams

It was a cold and wet opening day for all the youth lacrosse teams this past Sunday. The 5th grade Rams Maroon team fought a tough defensive battle against a strong Massapequa team and came away with a victory. Goalies Evan Poisson and Andre Stone made some spectacular saves and allowed only 2 goals on the day. The close defense of Kevin Liddy, Tim Coogan, Robert Pietrzak and P.J. Cline, most of who had long poles in their hands for the first time, was a wall that frustrated the Massapequa players at every turn. The middies Terrance Connelly, P.J. McGovern, Mike LoFrese,Conor McDonagh, John O'Hare, Matt Fox, Joe Reilly, Kyle Cadigan and Matt Quesada controlled the face offs, the ground balls and the action. Our attack squad of Liam Kennedy, Nick Desarno, Dan Johnson, John Wein, John Mixon and Matt Cotter were awesome at riding and keeping the ball down our nd. Together the boys finally loosened up our offense in the second half to come from behind for 3 to 2 wins. Great job.
