Ms. O'Boyle and her boys make apple pie just like they did back in the colonial days.
Ms. O'Boyle's fourth-grade class (Stewart School) recently visited the Cow Neck Historical Society in Port Washington. They had a great time learning about life in colonial Long Island at the former home of the Sands and Willets families. While there, the students made apple pie and cornbread, learned how to make berry-juice ink for writing with feather quills, and dressed in colonial garb.
