Thanks For Flying Flag
Pope John XXIII Fourth Degree Assembly, the local
patriotic arm of the Knights of Columbus, presented Edward Bauer of Garden City
with the Knights of Columbus Patriotic Award at the Msgr. Seidenschwang Council
meeting held in St. Anne's School on March 9, 2005. The award recognizes Bauer's
proud show of patriotism by flying the American Flag in front of his home every
day. This grand old American Tradition seldom gets the recognition that it
deserves. The assembly thanks those who fly the flag on a regular basis in
accordance with the rules of flag etiquette. Pictured left to right are Grand
Knight James Cioffi, District Deputy Nick Pennacchio, recipient Edward Bauer,
and Robert Coyne, chairman of the Assembly Fly the Flag committee.
