Students Compete In Scrabble Championship

Michael Rogers and Sean Callahan prepared to compete in the day-long event.Representatives of St. Joseph School's Chess and Scrabble Club entered the Newsday Scrabble championship on March 7th. The event was held at the Cradle of Aviation Museum. Michael Rogers and Sean Callahan were selected to compete against other area schools on Long Island. Faculty moderator Mrs. Margaret Costello accompanied the boys during the event. Throughout the year students in grades 5 through 8 met weekly to perfect their skills and strategies. Congratulations go to Michael and Sean, who placed 68th out of 122 contestants.
