Great American Art

Great American Art, a narrated slide lecture, will be given by Ms. Catherine Lawrence of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Tuesday, April 12, at 2:00 p.m. Offered in conjunction with the Library's celebration of Long Island Reads 2005 book selection Travels With Charley, Great American Art will show the richness of the land, the diversity of the people, and the way of life as the United States of America becomes a major force in international art.

The final program for Long Island Reads 2005 is Writing the Personal Memoir with Eileen Obser. This workshop will be held on Thursday, April 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., which includes a 30-minute lunch break; bring a bag lunch and the Library will supply coffee and tea.

Whether you are writing a memoir, or planning to, this workshop will help you focus on those parts of your life and experience that you wish to capture and share.

Program presenter Eileen Obser, writer and teacher, runs creative writing workshops for Suffolk Community College and other venues. She is a published memoirist.
