Bat meets ball as Bombers Rally The Garden City Bombers baseball club announces that it will hold tryouts for the 2005 Summer Season for its high school age teams. Tryouts will be held on the following dates from 9 am to 10:30 am, at Community Park, Baseball Field Number 4.

Successful candidates for the teams must be able to play the caliber of highly competitive high school baseball. There are two Bombers Teams for Summer 2005 are:

* Varsity. You must be no older than 18 on August 1. The caliber of play is designed to be high school varsity, and we will play in the Connie Mack League.

* Junior Varsity. You must be no older than 16 on August 1. The caliber of play is designed to be high school junior varsity, and we will play in the Mickey Mantle league.

Players who wish to tryout should bring with them a photocopy of their birth certificate, which must be given to the coaches. Players who make the team must pay for the summer fee of $380.

Both leagues are run by the Long Island Connie Mack League, Inc. http://www.licml.com. Our home games will be in Garden City, and we expect most of our away games will be in Nassau County.
