The Floral Park Woman's Club will be holding a Ladies Night Out on April 1 at 7 p.m. at St. Elisabeth's Church on Harvard Street in Floral Park.  $12, call Peggy at 352-9067...The Jay's World Childhood Cancer Foundation will be hosting their annual 3 vs 3 Basketball tournament called Top-Gun- 11 on April 9 and 10 at the North Shore high School in Glen Head. The tournament is open to all ages, from 8 to 60.  The cost to enter a 4-player team is 15o dollars. Although this is a 2-day event, each age groupplays all their games in 1 day for about 5 hours.  The Foundation has helped many children and their families from all walks of life cope with the devastating affects of having childhood cancer.  Call 516-671-7410 for details...  Meet and enjoy the company of other singles at the St. Aidan's Church, 505 Willis Ave., in Williston Park, on April 2. On March 29, PO Bandl arrested a 55-year-old man for an outstanding 1977 warrant from the NY State Park Police for criminal personation.  The motorist was initially pulled over on Clinton Rd. for a license plate lamp that was not working...PO Touhy arrested a 49-year-old West Hempstead man for alleged DWAI, no insurance and aggravated unlicensed operation 1st degree ( for a prior DWI ), at Hilton Ave./ Fifth Street, on March 24, after the motorist was involved in a two-car accident there...Someone removed a wallet containing $45 in U.S. currency and credit cards at The Adelphi Universitiy Science Biulding on March 23... On March 27, PO Florio arrested a 31-year-old for the possession of a stolen car, and for numerous traffic violations, which included no insurance and aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree, on Clinton Road at 4:10 a.m...Also on March 24, police arrested a 35-year-old man who had fled the scene during Probation detail conducted by police on March 16.  He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd degree due to a DWI-related offense...PO Hennessy arrested a 25-year-old Hempstead man for aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd degree( the motorist had a suspended license due to a DWI offense), on Roslyn Rd., on March 23...On March 18, unknown persons slashed a tire on a Dodge Durango valued at $175, at County Field 14... On March 22, a 42-year-old Flushing man was arrested for criminal trespass at the Mobil Station in Garden City... PO Madden arrested a 34-year-old Lynbrook man for aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd degree ( 5 suspensions, 4 dates ) on March 25...

Steam from a shower accidentally set off an alarm at a Transverse Road house on March 22... The FD assisted police after a car accident occurred at Franklin Ave./Second Street on March 22... The FD received a call to assist a Tullamore Rd. resident with a faulty alarm on the same day...Firemen assisted a Chestnut Street homeowner with a malfunctioning carbon monoxide detector on March 23...On March 26, firemen cut wires to a motor on a power vent that had overheated at a Huntington Rd.house...  On the same day, LIPA was notified of a transformer problem on Huntington Road...On Seventh Street, the FD were called to help a person locked in an apartment at the Hampshire House.They used a K tool and a rabbit tool to gain entry...
