GC Residents Celebrate a Doggie Adoption

2005-04-01 / Community

A Garden City Bunko group recently celebrated the adoption of eight month old Odie, the English springer spaniel, by proud owners Robert and Lisa Coors.

A "Doggie Shower" with all the trimmings made for a fun afternoon with lots of laughter. The shop was fully decorated for the occasion, complete with stork decorations and party streamers. The proud new mom wore a blue and white corsage and handed out chocolate cigars, while new arrival Odie donned the honorary "bow bonnet". The children helped open gifts, which include doggie toys, collars, leashes and everything a family would need to welcome the new arrival. The lunch buffet included food fit for both man and beast including bakery fresh dog biscuits in assorted flavors.

The party was held at Woofer Wash, a self-service dog wash in West Hempstead. Proprietor Mindy Fras was honored to host the affair and has been thrilled by the positive response received for the Garden City community since her opening in November.

All that is left to say is "Welcome to Garden City Odie, it's all good from here on in".
