Michael C. Grippo Michael C. Grippo, vice president and senior business development officer in U.S. Trust's Garden City, New York, office was recently named to the board of directors of The Coalition Against Child Abuse & Neglect (CCAN), a non-profit center for child abuse prevention and child victim advocacy, it was announced today by William J. Porter, Jr., managing director and regional president of U.S. Trust's Long Island offices.

According to CCAN Board President, Toni Liebman, "We are grateful for Michael's long-term commitment to the agency's mission to advocate for enhanced prevention, intervention and treatment services and policies for abused and neglected children. His board appointment is in recognition of his dedication." CCAN was the 2004 charitable beneficiary of U.S. Trust's annual holiday reception, which included a toy and book drive that U.S. Trust sponsored.

"U.S. Trust and its executives are strong supporters of the local community and we are proud of CCAN's recognition of Michael's continuous efforts on the agency's behalf," said Porter.

Grippo has been involved in helping CCAN with its developmental and community outreach programs for the past several years. He is also a member of the Winthrop University Hospital Board of Regents and a Forum Roundtable Member of the Museum of Radio and Television. Grippo and his wife, Mary, and their two daughters reside in Garden City.

CCAN was founded in 1979 as a center to prevent child abuse and to advocate for the child maltreatment victim and their families. Today, in addition to training, educating, legislative advocacy and intervention services, CCAN provides direct services to child abuse victims and their families through the Child Victim Advocacy Program, Project Kidz Talk(c), Project Families Together, Project LAUNCH (Learning and Understanding the Needs of Children) and coordinates the operations of the Child Advocacy Center of Nassau County
