McLogan And Linehan Discuss Media With AAUW

Jennifer McLogan, WCBS-TV Long Island CorrespondentJennifer McLogan, WCBS-TV Long Island Correspondent AAUW is delighted to announce that two Garden City residents from the world of TV will speak at our public library on Monday, April 4, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. “The Media: A Look Behind the Scenes” promises to be a program of interest to all residents as well as to those hoping to pursue a television career.

Emmy award winner Jennifer McLogan, well known to all who watch Channel 2 News, will share some of her experiences with the audience. She has been the station’s Long Island correspondent since 1993. She previously worked for the station from 1982 through 1983 as a general assignment reporter and early morning anchor. Prior to returning to CBS2, McLogan was a general assignment reporter for WBBM-TV, the Viacom Television Stations Group’s owned and operated station in Chicago, from 1989 through 1993. She also served as a reporter for NBC News and NBC Sports from 1983 through 1989, appearing on “The NBC Nightly News,” “The Today Show,” and “NBC Sports World.”

McLogan was graduated with honors from the University of Michigan in 1975 and received her M.F.A. from Brandeis University in 1977. She currently resides in Garden City, New York with her husband and three children.

Denis Linehan of ABC TV and Madison Square Garden Network and formerly of CNBC is a freelance camera operator. He will tell us about a typical day in his busy life which includes shooting “The View” with Barbara Walters, live Monday through Friday, as well as numerous sports events. A 1982 graduate of James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science degree, Linehan also attended the New York University School of Professional Studies - Video Production. He and his wife live in Garden City with their two children.
