Easter Car Parade This Sunday
Resident John Mesloh, long-time parade participant, traditionally carries the Kiwanis Easter Bunnies in one of his classic Chrysler Town & Country convertibles along with Roger Eltringham, Chamber secretary/treasurer and renowned Kiwanian.
This Easter Sunday at 1 pm., the Garden City Chamber of Commerce will present its 50th annual Vintage Car .Parade. The parade will step off on Franklin and Tenth Street heading south. Unique, classic and special interest cars are expected to participate in the procession with the traditional Kiwanis Easter Bunnies in the lead.
Parade directors, Chris Smalley, George Negohosian and Dr. Jerry Corva report that the parade will proceed south on Franklin Avenue to Seventh Street - then west on Seventh Street where the parade will terminate at Hilton Avenue. The Kiwanis Easter Bunnies, accompanied by Kingsley Bear will distribute lollipops to the youngster on Seventh Street as the parade passes by. An added attraction will be the Banjo Rascals, performing at the assembly area between ninth and Eleventh Streets and on Seventh Street during the procession.
