The rumor that the Automobile Club of New York was closing a deal to become the new tenant in the Saks Fifth Avenue building is false, according to Yonkers-based developer Alfred Weissman Real Estate, Inc. The firm took title to the building, located at 1300 Franklin Avenue, on February 1.

"Garden City is a special place and the building is lovely," said Alfred Weissman. "We are trying to find the best possible use for the building that will also be an asset to the community."

Although Weissman said there has been a lot of interest, no future tenants have been decided. The developer has said they would prefer all retail, all office or a combination of both.
