Prayer Breakfast A Success

Members and friends of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Garden City gathered for a Congregational Prayer Breakfast as part of their ongoing mission to share the saving message of Jesus Christ, care for those within and beyond the community, prepare hearts and minds to grow in faith and dare to live each day to the glory of Jesus.

The Rev. Dien Taylor, pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in the Bronx served as the keynote speaker. Rev. Taylor shared his thoughts about the power of prayer in the life of the individual, in the church and for the future ministries of the church.

Bill harmon, senior pastor of the congregation, unveiled a new prayer ministry based on individuals and small groups praying for the community, the proclamation of the gospel and the ministry of the church.

Resurrection is a growing faith community and welcomes all people to come and hear the good news of Jesus Christ. Each wek they strive to offer uplifting and meaningful worhip experiences. Children’s sermons, inspiring music, a Bible-based message and the love of Jesus are the core of each worship service.

For a relaxed worship atmosphere with piano, guitar and other instruments, a service is held on Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. For a variety of styles and formats using the church’s beautiful organ a service is held on Saturdays at 8:30 and 11 a.m.

A staffed nursery is available on Sunday mornings. Children’s sermons are offered at both services. Children’s Church for Pre-K through First Grade is available during the 11 a.m. service. Sunday School, Youth Forum and Adult Education are at 9:45 a.m. on Sundays. For more information on the church, visit
