Erin and Fallon The Garden City Girl’s Varsity gymnastics team had two great meets against Great Neck North and Great Neck South. On January 30th, the girls defeated Great Neck South with a score of 132.6 to 104.75. Seventh grader, Breanna Lynch led the team with an all around score of 30.0. Kristina Loverde also excelled with a score of 7.5 on vault. Erin Patterson and Fallon McCarthy helped out the team with their scores of 5.3 and 5.0 on bars. On beam Nicole Albano achieved a 6.0 and Erin Shea a 6.2. On the floor exercise, Jenny Cohn danced her way to a 7.5 with a solid routine. Kelly Kiernan earned a 5.7 to the music of Inspector Gadget.

Jerry on bars On February 1st, the gymnastics team beat Great Neck North with a score of 133 to 127.4. Katie Dempsey did a great job on vault with a score of 6.6. On bars Breanna Lynch scored a 7.3. Christine White’s creative beam routine earned her a 5.3 and Jenny Cohn a 7.0 for her very steady routine.

The Garden City Varsity Gymnastics Team finished their season on a positive note and are looking forward to next year. The girls would like to thank coaches George Kast and Janet Rogler for all their help. They are also sad to see senior Jenny Cohn leave but wish her the best of luck at Wake Forest.
