Golf Equipment Needed

Coach Jim Malone and the members of the Garden City Boys Varsity Team are looking for donations of used golf equipment including clubs, golf shoes and golf bags. The equipment will be given to the First Tee Foundation, an organization that seeks, among other things, to introduce the sport of golf to individuals who may not otherwise experience the joy the game can offer.

Women’s Platform Tennis League Try-Outs

Any Garden City resident who is interested in participating in the Women’s Platform Tennis League at the GC Community Park for the 2005-2006 season please contact Susan Tarzian at 483-2525 (The Tennis Hut). Please leave a message and she will get back to you. This notice is for residents from beginners through advanced who are not presently participating on our teams. All current participants will be contacted by their team captains if they are needed for this event.

Try-outs will be conducted during the week of March 14 and 21 st.

Centennial Soccer News

The Garden City Centennial Soccer Program will begin its intramurals shortly. This program is open to boys in PreK through 6th grade and to girls in PreK through 9th grade. A child is considered “PreK” in they will be attending Kindergarten this fall.

The schedule of play dates will be as follows:

Saturday, April 2

Saturday, April 9

Saturday, April 16

Saturday, April 23 (first weekend of Spring Break)

Saturday, May 7

Saturday, May 14

Saturday, May 21

Saturday, June 4 (Soccerfest)

Children will be notified of their team assignments the week before the season begins. All players must wear shin guards and cleats. Girls’ teams will play between 9 a.m. and noon. Boys’ teams will play between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
