Curator Of Art Museum To Speak

2005-02-18 / Community

The Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead is pleased to announce that Franklin Hill Perrell, curator of the Nassau County Museum of Art since 1991, will be the guest speaker at its March 2, 2005 general program to be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Garden City Casino.

Members and their guests are cordially invited to attend the meeting and hear Mr. Perrell discuss the museum’s current exhibit, “Picasso,” offering background on this singular artist, his work and his extraordinary contributions to modern art. He will also tell us about the upcoming exhibits at the museum during 2005, which include: “Seward Johnson: Beyond the Frame,” a fascinating interactive exhibition of Johnson’s life-sized interpretation of impressionist masterpieces by Renoir, Monet, Manet and Van Gogh, and “Two Centuries of Long Island’s Artists: From Brooklyn to Nassau to Montauk.”

In addition being its curator, Franklin Hill Perrell is also the museums most popular lecturer. His exhibition-related talks are routinely sold out as are his guided trips to New York Museums and Galleries and other intriguing art venues in the metropolitan area and beyond. How fortunate we are that we won’t have to travel any further than Garden City to hear this knowledge and erudite speaker. There will be opportunity to meet Mr. Perrell at the tea hour following the program.

The Community Club offers a wide variety of quality programs, interesting trips and creative art classes from October thru May.
