On Sunday, January 9, three members of Pack 55 received the Parluvei Dei Award at a Mass celebrated at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Garden City. The three recipients are members of Pack 55, which is sponsored by the Cathedral of the Incarnation. They worked toward earning this award independent of their usual Cub Scout work. They spent many hours exploring various aspects of the Catholic religion and participated in several community service projects. The Parluvei Dei Award is the second medal awarded to Cub Scouts of the Catholic faith. The Boy Scouts of America and the Cub Scouts encourage young men to practice their faith as well as to be familiar with and tolerant of all religions.
