The Italian students were divided into four groups. Each group was responsible to present words for one topic, to create and activity and, when appropriate, to create materials to assist them in their presentation. Topics include: food, body parts, numbers and colors.

At the end of the group presentations, the students from all the classes gathered in the multi-purpose room to learn an Italian children’s song. All the students responded enthusiastically to the song and learned the words very quickly. The elementary school children were very pleased with their efforts and the response of the young learners. Teaching and learning Italian at Hemlock was a rewarding experience for all.
