Nora Bauer
Nora Bauer, 103 yrs. old, of Garden City N.Y. and Mattapoisett MA. died on January 2, 2005 at Sippican Healthcare Center in Marion MA.
She was married to her late husband, Andrew Bauer Jr. for 72 years, and was a Garden City resident for 64 years.
Mrs. Bauer was active in raising awareness for the need of a library in Garden City back in the forties and devoted many hours to this endeavor. She also made bandages for cancer patients on a weekly basis at St. Joseph’s Church and was a volunteer driver for children with cerebral palsy. An avid “bird watcher” and bridge player she was a long time member of the Garden City Sr. Woman’s Club, The Grandmother’s Club and the Garden City League of Mercy Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Nora was one of eleven children born to the late William E. and Mary Ellen (Cooney) Foster.
She is survived by a sister Margaret Doane of Mattapoisett MA. a daughter Barby McGloin and son-in-law Ed of Garden City and Mattapoisett MA, a son Andrew Bauer III of N.Y.C. and Halcottsville N.Y. two grandsons, Jason Bauer of NYC and Alexander Bauer of Wash. D.C. and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a Memorial Mass at 11:00 am in the chapel of St. Joseph Church in Garden City on February 5, 2005. All are welcome.

Eleanor K. Frank
Eleanor K. Frank passed away on January 14, 2005. She was a long time resident of Stewart Manor. Beloved wife of the late Charles. Loving mother of Maryellen McNamara. Dear sister of John Convey and Mary Harris. Devoted mother in law of Michael McNamara. Cherished grandmother of Christopher and Megan. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday January 18, 2005 at St. Anne’s RC Church with interment at Holy Rood Cemetery. The family was cared for by Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home, Floral Park.

Edward Haas
Edward Haas of Garden City passed away on January 17, 2005. Beloved husband of Helen and the late Ellen. Devoted father of Carole and Randolph, stepfather of Dale and Paul. Loving grandfather of Emily, Conor, Keri, Timothy, Eli, Kendra and Ian and great grandfather of Paris Jade. A Memorial Service will be held on January 22, 2005 at 11 am at Brookville Reformed Church, Brookville, NY. Marion Rombach Norman
Marion Rombach Norman, a long time resident of Garden City, N.Y. and Port St. Lucie, Florida, died of natural causes on January eleventh at St. Joseph’s Manor, a senior residence center in Trumbull, Ct. The family is most appreciative of the devoted loving care she received there. She was in her ninety second year.
Marion was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Parish in Garden City from 1950-1973 and actively involved with her family and Church as a member of the Rosary Altar Society as well as participating in leadership roles with the Girls Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was an avid golfer and a long time member of the Cherry Valley Country Club of Garden City and the Sandpiper Bay Club of Port St. Lucie, Florida. In her later years, she was an administrative assistant at the State Farm Insurance Co. in Port St. Lucie, Fl.
She will be fondly remembered by all those who shared her love of dancing.
She is survived by four children: Joan Rombach Chisholm of Laurel, N.Y., Diane Rombach Ganser of Monroe, Ct., Lynn Rombach Pisani of Garden City, N.Y. and Edward L. Rombach Jr. of Marblehead, Mass., as well as three sons-in-law, Joseph G. Chisholm, Raymond J. Ganser, and Michael J. Pisani and a daughter-in-law, Jeannie Pandolfo Rombach. In addition, she leaves 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Marion was married to the late Edward L.Rombach Sr. of Garden City and Port St. Lucie, Fl., forty seven years, and the late Alfred Norman of Stuart, Fl., four years.
A funeral Mass recognizing her long and caring life will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, Garden City, N.Y. on Friday, January fourteenth at 11:00 a.m. by a long time family friend, Msgr. Edward L. Tarrant. Visiting hours will precede the Funeral Mass at Fairchild’s Funeral Home, 1201 Franklin Ave., Garden City, N.Y., from 9:00 to 10:30a.m..
