Varsity Gymnastics Team The Garden City Varsity gymnastics team got their season off to a great start! On Tuesday, January 4, 2005, they beat Roslyn High School with a score of 127.45 to 115.45. New captains Jenny Cohn and Nicole Albano helped lead the team to victory in a very exciting meet. On floor exercise Fallon McCarthy (10) tumbled her way to a 6.1, while three year member, Nicole Jacoberger (11) contributed her expertise in choreography to the team. Erin Patterson (11) continues to do well on vault, securing a 7.15. Kelly Kiernan (10) helped carry the team with a solid bar routine. Returning team members Christine White’s 6.2 and Nicole Albano’s 7.0 added to the team’s victory with their original beam routine. Senor Jenny Cohn helped the team in every event and positive attitude. The girls’ gymnastics team would like to welcome Candace Hall (10), Stacy Georgas (9), and Breanna Lynch (7). Breanna made an impressive start scoring highest on vault with a 8.0. Great things are truly experienced of all new members. WE are hoping they continue to have a great year. Coaches George Kast and Janet Rogler are expecting a prosperous season. Our next meet will be held at Stratford Avenue School on Tuesday, January 18, 2005. All are welcomed to come support the Garden City High School Varsity gymnastics team.
