GC Girls Rams Lacrosse Is A Travel Program
Participation in a travel sports program requires commitment from both the player and parents. Attendance at practices is mandatory. The Lacrosse season officially starts on March 1 and ends on June 30. It is important for both parents and players to understand that signing up for GC Rams Girls Lacrosse is committing to making lacrosse their primary sport from the season. When participating in more than one travel sport, conflicts will occur. We ask that you consider this when registering you daughter to play. While every effort is made to coordinate practice and game schedules with other sports, it is not always possible. Again, Lacrosse is a spring sport and we ask each participant to make it her priority sport for the season. Games are played on either Saturday or Sunday and practices are limited to two per week.

GCAA Maroon 4th Grade Boys Basketball
GCAA Maroon 4th Grade Boys start New Year with a bang as record improves to 7-1 in Island Garden Super League play.
GCAA Maroon (4th Grade Boys Basketball) continued their winning streak by winning games against Bulldog Athletic on Jan 3rd, JCC Rothman on Jan 5th and JCC Silverstein on Jan 9th. In the 35-13 Bulldog Athletic victory, GCAA Maroon used a balanced scoring attack as Sean Walsh led all scorers with 7 points while Kyle Ritchie, Lucas Clay and Greg Arning scored 6 points each. Despite missing Eric Prevete, Sean Walsh and Michael Walsh due to illness and injuries, the diverse scoring attack continued in the JCC Rothman game as Andrew Granville and Eddie Blatz led scorers with 10 points and 8 points respectively while Matteo Lattanzio, Dan Smith, Greg Arning, Kyle Ritchie and Lucas Clay all put the ball in the basket to help the cause. One of the keys to the JCC Rothman was the accurate and unselfish passing of Michael Perrotta as he set up many of his teammates especially on the open break.
Sean Walsh returned to action for the 28-16 JCC Silverstein victory and ran the point with precision. The Blatz (11) and Granville (7) duo was once again a force to be reckoned as the pair combined for 18 points in the highly competitive game. One of the keys to victory in this game was the aggressive defense led by Eric Prevete, Kyle Ritchie, and Lucas Clay and the quick passing provided by Greg Arning, Michael Perrotta and Matteo Lattanzio. Early in the first half, Michael Perrotta also made a momentum changing 15 foot jump shot to open the scoring floodgates as the shot sparked a GCAA Maroon run. Additional JCC Silverstein scorers included Sean Walsh with 5 points and Eric Prevete. Michael Walsh, who is resting his sore knee, provided enthusiasm and inspiration from the bench as team anticipates his return later this month. The GCAA Maroon team is coached by Tom Granville and John Walsh. The team is back in action at Island Garden on Sun Jan 16th vs St. Rose Watson, Sun Jan 23rd vs St. Anthony’s and Mon Jan 24th vs HHH Heller. The GCAA Maroon 4th grade boys, who have been complemented on their sportsmanship and maturity by their opponents throughout the season, will play a total of 18 games from mid November through mid March as the team grows as basketball players but more importantly as young men.
