Winthrop-University Hospital recently received a new AED Little Anne™, a resuscitation-training mannequin donated to the Hospital by the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association.
“Little Anne is truly a seamless device crucial for training our health professionals, the community and local teachers vital CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) skills,” said Gerald Brody, MD, Chairman of Ambulatory Care, Winthrop-University Hospital.
Rick Volpe, Dealer Principal of Van Buren Pontiac, Buick and GMC in Garden City Park, initiated the donation because he holds a strong tie to Winthrop. He was born here, and felt it was special to be able to give something back to “his” Hospital. “Winthrop is such an important and integral part of the community that it seemed natural for us to donate this important lifesaving equipment to the Hospital,” he explained.
“The Association’s generous donation is greatly appreciated as it will help to further enhance Winthrop’s training program for the benefit of the employees and the entire community,” added Judy Jax, RN, Trauma Coordinator, Winthrop-University Hospital.
