Senator Kemp Hannon has been recently named one of the Top 100 Most Influential Long Islanders. This list, determined by Long Island Business News (LIBN), recognizes the “X factor certain people have to motivate others to accomplish great feats or to change direction.”

In a LIBN snapshot of the honorees, Senator Hannon is recognized as “the unassuming chairman of the powerful Senate Health Committee” and “the driving force behind efforts to revamp the state’s Medicaid system.”

The Most Influential Long Islanders list included business people, leaders in the not-for-profit sector and civic arenas and others who wielded real power in 2004.
