Get ready to Rock-N-Roll… Bowl…one of our most popular events of the year! Members and non-members are invited to join us on Saturday, January 29th from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm at Garden City Lanes, 987 Stewart Avenue as we enjoy a delicious buffet of food, unlimited beer, wine, soda, music and laughs. So grab your husband or a friend and bowl as many games as you want until 11:00 p.m.! Ladies Movie Night …If you haven’t had the opportunity to attend one of our fun-filled movie nights, your next opportunity will be Monday, January 31st , at the Clearview Herricks Cinema located at 3324 Hillside Avenue in New Hyde Park. Due to the popularity of this event, we suggest you get your checks in early. Please make your checks payable to the Garden City Welcoming Club for $23, which includes the movie, cocktails, hor d’oeuvres, candy, laughter and more! Knitting Fun …Have you ever admired a hand-knit scarf or blanket and wished you knew how to make one yourself? Marlene from Michael's Arts & Crafts will get us started in an Introductory Knitting class . We will meet on February 7th at the Garden City Library at 7pm . The cost is $25.00 , which includes two hours of instruction, knitting needles and yarn, as well as snacks and refresh-ments! Space is limited so get some girlfriends together and sign up today! Tennis Party …Grab your valentine and your racquet and join us for our Mixed Doubles Round Robin Tennis Party on Saturday, February 12th at 7:00 pm! This is a wonderful way to meet other couples and spend time with those you already might know. You don’t have to play well to attend! So please join us at the Community Park tennis bubble for an evening of tennis (court time and tennis balls are included), refreshments and snacks. Don’t miss this fun filled evening! Our next membership coffee will be held on Tuesday, February 15th , at the lovely home of Tracey Lawson, 77 Poplar Street. Membership is open to all adult female residents of Garden City. You do not have to be a new member of the community or a new mom! As an organization, we strive to offer something for everyone…book clubs, bunko groups, tennis, bowling, ladies nights out, movie nights etc…So if you are new to the community and would like to meet your neighbors, or just interested in a bit of social activity, consider attending our next membership coffee.
