Sean Hosford swimming in the 100 yard backstroke race. On Tuesday, December 14, 2004, the Garden City High School Boys Varsity Swim Team beat Plainview by a score of 160-141. The boy’s swim team is 3-0 and is gearing up for the more competitive second half of the season.

In the 200 yard freestyle, Chris Finnegan received first place and Tim Logan earned third place.

Tom Barden and Jonathan Derlath both swam the 200 yard individual medley and came in first and second place respectively.

In the 50 yard freestyle sprint, Trevor Stanco received second place and Brendan Lee received fourth place.

Tim Logan swimming in the 500 yard freestyle. Valentino Wong, was the only Garden City diver in the Plainview meet. His strong efforts earned Garden City second place for diving.

After the break in diving, Jonathan Derlath earned second place, and Peter Ruhry got third place in the 100 yard butterfly.

In the 100 yard freestyle, Trevor Stanco finished a decisive first place and Chris Finnegan came in second place.

In the 500 freestyle, Sean Hosford’s stamina earned him first place and Tim Logan finished strong in third place.

The final individual event of the meet was the 100 yard breast stroke. In this race, Tom Barden took first place and Valentino Wong earned second place.

Coach Ann Sullivan was pleased again with the team’s performance and encouraged her swimmers to continue training for the remainder of the season.
