Barbara Smith, GCREA president. The GC Retired Educators Association held a bridge luncheon at the GC Casino to benefit the Charles Morrongiello Senior High Art Scholarship Fund on November 8th. This fund was designed to recognize artistic achievement in the graduating senior class. Two seniors this past June received a token Honorable Mention of $500 and one graduate received a $2,500 scholarship.

Ninety-two bridge players were in attendance and helped raise $1,000 by purchasing raffles. The following merchants in Garden City, Carle Place and Westbury generously gave to this event: Pear Tree, De Mar Salon, Barbatsuly Furrier, Seventh Street Café, Leo’s Restaurant, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, West End Café, “Originals” Gift Shop, Hilton Hotel, Borders Book Store, Camille’s Restaurant, “Things and Stuff’ Gift Shop, Figaro’s Hair Salon, TCBY, Annastasia Hair Salon, Curves, GC Wines & Spirits, Hengstenberg’s Florist, Feldis Florist, D plus V Liquors, Westbury Liquors, National Wholesale Liquidators, Personalized Christmas Notes by Melissa Jaeger of GC and the GC Hotel.
