A Word From The Publisher
Happy Thanksgiving

Since this is our last issue that will be delivered before Thanksgiving, we would like to wish all of our readers a happy Thanksgiving, with their loved ones.

We are always gladdened at this time of year to hear about the variety of homegrown charitable events that are put together by groups and individuals at this time of year. Whether it is the gathering of warm winterwear by scouts, or the collection of food by churches, it does our heart good to see that there are so many residents of Garden City who reach out a helping hand to others in need.

In the past few weeks we have published several letters detailing vandalism by a handful of youths in the Village. While we hope the perpetrators are caught and punished, it is also important for our readers to understand that the majority of the Village’s teens are “good kids” who don’t deserve to be painted with the same brush as the vandals. We hope our readers look through this issue and note the number of kids who are involved in charitable acts. If we lump all teens together, we are doing them a grave disservice.

Due to the holiday, all of our deadlines will be 24 hours earlier than in ordinary weeks. Classified advertising must be received by noon on Monday; other news and advertising is due by noon on Tuesday. The paper will be in mailboxes as usual on Friday for in-town subscribers.
