The Garden City Public Library Thanksgiving holiday hours are:

Wednesday, November 24, Thanksgiving Eve: 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Thursday, November 25, Thanksgiving Day: C L O S E D

Friday, November 26: 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Saturday, November 27: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sunday, November 28: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Annual Discard Book Sale

The Garden City Public Library is pleased to offer our annual library discard sale on Saturday November 20, 2004 from 9-5 and on Sunday, November 21, from 1-5. We are offering reference books, children’s books, young adult books and fiction and non-fiction books that have been discarded by the Garden City Public Library to make room for newer books. There are videocassettes and books on tape on sale as well. The cost of media will vary, but will still be a bargain.

All books are only $.25 per item on Saturday. On Sunday you can fill a bag, container or truck of your choice with books for Free!!

Wall Hanging Workshop

The Young Adult Department of the Garden City Public Library is conducting a “Holiday Wall Hanging Workshop” on Saturday, December 4 for Garden City young adults in grades 6-12. The first session is scheduled from 1-2:15 p.m. and the second session from 2:30-3:45 p.m. Sign up for one session only.

Join instructor Rochelle Kfare to learn how to design a festive holiday wall hanging using velvet ribbon, netting, straw hats and scented potpourri. All material will be supplied. Registration is necessary and begins on Saturday, November 20 in the Young Adult Department. This program is brought to you free of charge thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Garden City Public Library.
