This is a copy of Richard’s Kennedy portrait On November 5 th, Richard Pietrzak, a 5 th grade student at Stratford School, was notified that his art entry was selected as a winner in the 26

th annual Kidsday Art Contest run by Newsday. This was quite an accomplishment as there were over 7,000 entries this year. Since this was the most ever, the judges certainly had a tough time deciding on the winners.

Richard with his winning portrait and a congratulations letter from Newsday Richard’s drawing was a portrait of John F. Kennedy. It was done as part of his Presidential Project for his Quest class. His drawing will appear in Newsday on Sunday, December 26, 2004. We all look forward to seeing his picture featured in the paper.
