Congregational Prayer Breakfast A Big Hit

2004-12-24 / Community

Members and friends of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, located at 420 Stewart Ave., Garden City, gathered for a Congregational Prayer Breakfast as part of their ongoing mission to share the saving message of Jesus Christ, care for those within and beyond the community, prepare hearts and minds to grow in faith and dare to live each day to the glory of Jesus.

The Rev. Dien Taylor, Pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in the Bronx, served as the keynote speaker. Rev. Taylor shared his thoughts about the power of prayer in the life of the individual, the power of prayer in the church, and the power of prayer for the future ministries of the church.

Following Rev. Taylor’s presentation, Rev. Bill Harmon, Senior Pastor of the congregation, unveiled a new prayer ministry based on individuals and small groups praying for the community, the proclamation of the gospel and the ministry of the church.

Resurrection is a growing faith community and welcomes all people to come and hear the good news of Jesus Christ.
