2004-12-24 / Community

Dr. Kristine Qureshi, RN, DNSc, of Garden City (fourth from left) was among the hundreds of medical professionals who recently received their credentials in the Nassau County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC). Dr. Qureshi is one of many physicians, dentists, nurses, psychiatrists and other professionals who have offered to volunteer their time in case of a large-scale emergency. Many of the MRC volunteers joined Nassau County’s Departments of Health and Senior Citizen Affairs flu immunization clinic, which vaccinated almost 8,000 senior citizens in one weekend. Others pictured are (L to R): Jennifer Mincin, Office of Emergency Management, Mary Mahoney, Regional Resource Coordinator from North Shore-LIJ Health Systems, Dr. Ronald Robinson, Dr. Qureshi and Richard Bylicki, Deputy Commissioner of Office of Emergency Management. For information or an application to join the Medical Reserve Corps, call 571-3231 or e-mail: TThomann@health.co.nassau.us.
