Locust School Students Collect Toys
The kindergarten and first-grade students from Locust School were asked to donate a toy for “Toys for Tots.” There was an overwhelming amount of toys brought in each day for a week in November. The toys were placed on tables in the main lobby. At the end of the week, students from Mrs. Albig’s class took all of the toys and packed them in big green bags. The bags were then delivered to Stewart School to be added to the toys collected from the students there. Homestead, Hemlock and Stratford students also made wonderful donations. After all the toys were collected, they were brought to Roosevelt Field Mall and presented to the Toys for Tots Organization.
Thank you to all the generous children in our community who donated toys. Many children less fortunate will have a smile on their face this holiday season because of the wonderful families in Garden City. Happy holidays!
