Locust School first-graders love gingerbread! Students in Mrs. Link’s class have read several versions of the classic tale of a runaway gingerbread man and created new endings for the story. They composed a version of the story set in Garden City with children, teachers and Mrs. Bliss chasing the cookie. Letters have been sent to friends and family about the story. The children tasted gingerbread cookies and graphed their preferences. A culminating activity was a readers’ theatre presentation to classmates.
