Play Ball!

The commissioner of Major League Baseball had quite the dilemma! He knew that the new Garden City baseball team had to be named after a vertebrate, but he was out of ideas for names. Luckily for him, word had spread that the students in Mrs. Andrews’ class at Stewart School were the best source for vertebrate information. The commissioner rushed to Stewart School and asked for their help. (Well, we can dream, can’t we?) With no delay, these clever fourth graders were willing to take on the challenge!
Students designed colorful team banners that displayed their suggested team names and logos. The new team names included vertebrates of all kinds, ranging from giraffes to sharks. The banners are now on display in front of room 228 at Stewart School. Check them out, and decide what team you’ll be rooting for next spring!.
