This January, the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer program is offering new support groups for Long Island women. There is no cost for any group; however pre-registration is required. The groups meet at Adelphi University School of Social Work in Garden City. For Women Newly Diagnosed with Breast Cancer

An evening group will meet weekly for 8 weeks on Tuesdays from 7 to 8:30 pm, beginning on January 11.

For Women Who Have Completed Treatment

This group will meet weekly for 8 weeks on Tuesday evenings, from 7 to 8:30 pm, beginning on January 4.

For Single Women with Breast Cancer

The planned starting date for this group, which will meet weekly for 8 weeks on Thursday evenings, tentatively beginning on January 13.

For Women with Inherited Breast Cancer

A group for women with Inherited Breast Cancer (BRCA 1 & 2) is now forming and will meet weekly for 8 weeks on Thursday evenings, tentatively beginning on January 20.

For Women with Metastatic Breast Cancer

This is an ongoing weekly group that will continue meeting weekly on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8:30 pm.

Support groups for couples, spouses/partners, teens, men with breast cancer, and lesbian women with breast cancer are available upon request, as well as individual counseling.
