Over the past few weeks members of the Village's Parks Department began the annual task of planting flowering bulbs. With recommendations from the Civic Beautification Committee (Florence Beach, Chairperson, Althea Robinson, Charlene McGowan and Ella Steitz) Village Arborist Michael Didyk supervised the planting of 36,000 bulbs throughout the Village.

Each year these bulbs are planted along Franklin Avenue, Seventh Street, New Hyde Park Road shopping area and at Village owned properties including at all main entry points into Garden City. In just a few months we will see a kaleidoscope of color throughout the entire Village as a result of these planting efforts.
