Christmas Hour Of Music
Residents of Garden City and their friends are invited to take a “time out” from their holiday preparations to enjoy a concert on Tuesday, December 7 when the Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead will present the annual Christmas Hour of Music. The concert, open without charge to the public, will be held at the Cathedral of the Incarnation at 2:00 p.m. It will feature music by George Frideric Handel, Maurice Ravel, and Andre Jolivet as performed by The Canta Libre Ensemble. The Director of the Canta Libre Ensemble is Sally Dalton Shorrock, who grew up in Garden City and graduated from Garden City High School. The performers will include Bernard Tomosaitis on the cello, Lisa Tannebaum on the harp, Leona Nadj on the violin, Peter Krysa also on violin, Kimberly Foster on the viola, Jess Gross on the clarinet, and Sally Shorrock on the flute. These musicians all have extensive backgrounds in both training and performing. At the conclusion of the concert, the audience is invited to the Garden City Casino for refreshments.
