The Lady Liberty team, headed up by Coach Tony Georgiton, faced the Port Washington Blue Angels and the Manhasset Kick Chicks and dominated 7-0 and 6-0 respectively. This past Saturdays’ game against the Rockville Centre Strikers ended in a scoreless tie.

With a strong defensive line, the Liberty team was able to come away with two shut-outs in a row. Paulette Mohacsi and Erin Vierengel provided expert goaltending in both the Port Washington and Manhasset games.

The offensive line included Erin Greiner, Joanna Georgiton, Raquel Ortiz, Elizabeth Kane and Paulette Mohacsi. Goals were scored by a variety of Liberty players thanks to incredible teamwork. Even a few defenders chalked up goals for the team!

In Saturday’s game against Rockville Centre, the Liberty dominated the entire game but couldn’t manage to get the ball past the strong Rockville Centre goalie. Deirdre McGuinness got a chance to leave the goal in the second half and hit the field running.

The Liberty players have worked tirelessly to improve their skills and the results are showing. They have meshed into a truly effective team, working in partnership on all their moves. The Liberty players face the New Hyde Park Royal Cats on Saturday. Go Liberty!
