The game began with Sam Trapasso pitching three innings, striking out six batters, holding Garden City South to seven runs. Sam Mattone pitched one strong inning in relief. Brigid Reina closed down the game holding Garden City South to four runs in two innings.

Offensively, Garden City’s bats were red hot with impressive contributions made by Shannon Mangini, O’Hanlon and Michelle Finneran, who all provided key hits in clutch situations. Kelly Weis, Marissa Burdi and Christine Pando performed skilled defense by making key outs at the right time. This gives the Allstars the best record in the league at 5 and 2. Coaches Reina, Weis and Trapasso are confident that this hot streak will continue in this Sunday’s tournament. They are very proud of this talented group.
