Varsity Girls Swimming And Diving County Champions For The 6th Year In A Row
The GCHS Swimming and Diving Team Division, Conference and County Champs
On November 6
th at the Nassau Aquatic Center, Garden City again showed the depth of their talented HS Varsity Swimming and Diving team. The Nassau County Championship Finals were almost over, and it was still a tight contest between old time rivals G.C. and Long Beach. But it wasn’t until the 10
th event that it became clear that Garden City would repeat history to become the Nassau Champions.
It was a tremendous team effort where every swimmer’s contribution added points to make the difference.

Winners from Garden City were the 200-Medley Relay Team of Erica Derlath, Clare McKenna, Nicole Sheridan and Olivia Lucas (1:57.31); Jenna Daly in the 100 Freestyle (54.94) and 200 Free (1:56.59), and McKenna, Derlath, Daly and Kellyn Baconcini in the 400 Freestyle Relay (3:47.78).
In addition, Garden City had a total of seven all county swimmers with five who received this award for their individual events.
