Pilot Program “Mother Goose” storytime for 18-29 month youngsters with Mrs. Gallagher, Children’s Librarian and “the mole” at the Garden City Public Library Thursday mornings. The Children's Department has recently acquired several CD and book kits. The picture books and CDs are a wonderful way for children to listen to great literature as you ride along on car trips. These kits are located with the book cassettes in the picture book area of the children's room. Please ask a children's librarian for help.

Celebrate Children's Book Week, which begins this Saturday, November 06, 2004 with a presentation by Christopher Agostino of "Native American Totem Tales" at 3 PM. Remaining tickets are available in the Children's Room. Mr. Agostino has presented other Native American performances at the Library and in the Garden City schools and has been very well received. The show is geared for an audience of Preschoolers age 4 through Grade 5 and is scheduled to run for one hour. An adult must accompany all children under 8 years of age.

Library programs are presented, free of charge, through the generosity of the Friends of the Garden City Public Library. Priority for registration and participation is given to children who are Garden City Public Library cardholders.
