5th and 6th grade field hockey teams with Garden City Varsity Coach Diane Chapman On Sunday, October 24th, Garden City’s two 5th and 6th grade field hockey teams played each other in an exciting game that ended up in a 2-2 tie. Garden City Team 1 is coached by varsity player Katie Rose and Team 2 is coached by her teammates, Caitlin Mullins and Elise Terraciano. Dianne Chapman, who is the varsity field hockey coach at the high school, was in attendance. She spoke with the players after the game, telling them how impressed she was with the level of play and how pleased she was to see so many girls participating. Dianne Chapman won her 200th game this season and is now looking to secure her eleventh consecutive county championship in field hockey at Garden City. Coach Chapman presented each of the girls a field hockey pin from Dr. Frank Kiernan, who is a long time field hockey supporter at the high school. Dr. Kiernan had presented the varsity girls with their pins earlier in the year. Also, a thank you to Al Vanasco of the GCAA for facilitating the formation of the teams.
