GCAA Basketball 2004-2005
Our Basketball program is open to boys and girls in the 2nd through 8th grades and is held in the St. Paul's Field House.
Registration is underway! Applications have been delivered via the schools. The registration deadline is October 16th!!
The playing season is expected to begin with a clinic on SUNDAY, November 21st. Games will be held through mid-March (excluding holiday off dates for Thanksgiving and Christmas).
We have a large turnout and our intramural league may have to turn away late registrations.
The 2nd Grade is a clinic and does NOT have teams. The participants in the 2nd Grade clinic are NOT called. Coaches are needed for drills.
We are hoping to establish teams before the end of October and start practices November 1st.
We plan to have a coaches meeting the week of October 25th.
Last year we had the pleasure of having a clinic with the Garden City Men’s Varsity team led by Coach Kennedy. We were also fortunate to have ex-Nets superstar George Bruns conduct two great clinics. Other fun activities last season included, some of our teams playing at the half-time of some of the Garden City Men’s Varsity games.
As with last season, the 3rd Grade and above we will be using “professional” team uniforms.
We will have the boys wearing NJ Nets, NY Knicks, Lakers, and other professional team uniforms. The girls will be wearing WNBA teams like the Liberty and Sun!
This season we are excited about continuing our travel program.
