Dr. Jim Gettemy will be the guest speaker at the Adult Forum of the Garden City Community Church on Sunday, October 17. He and other former clergy will speak on “The 75 th Anniversary and Celebration of Garden City Community Church History.”

Dr. Gettemy is Pastor Emeritus of GCCC and served as senior pastor from 1945-1958. He returned as Interim Pastor from 1986-1988. Dr. Gettemy will also preach at the 10:30 a.m. worship service which will be the opening ceremony for a yearlong celebration honoring the 75 th Anniversary of the church’s founding in Garden City. At that service, many former clergy and staff will be in attendance as honored guests.

A new hymn commissioned for the anniversary, written by Thomas H. Troeger with music by Robert Ludwig, Minister of Music at the Community Church, will be introduced to the congregation.

The forum is held in the church parlor at 9:15 a.m. and the community is welcome to attend.

Garden City Community Church is part of the United Church of Christ.
