Bridget Byrne on the pony ride
Bridget Byrne on the pony ride On Saturday, September 11, 2004 Cambridge Avenue (between Edgemere and NHP Road) celebrated a Block Party to remember. The spectacular day included pony rides, an obstacle bounce course, a mummy contest, water balloon tosses, scavenger hunt, tie dying, tug of war, a country auction, a 50/50 raffle and other many fun games and activities for the kids. In addition, there was a very special visit from our own Garden City Fire Department where kids and adults enjoyed exploring the fire truck as well as taking turns with the fire hose. Later the families enjoyed a pot luck dinner and danced to a DJ. At 8 p.m. Cambridge Avenue held a moment of silence to remember September 11, 2001.
