Michael P. Finnerty of Garden City, enrolled at Colby College in Waterville, Maine this fall. Before classes began he took part in an orientation that included an introduction to the rigorous academics and the rich cultural life at Colby as well as a four-day outdoor excursion. A graduate of Garden City Senior High School, Finnerty is the son of Michael and Lynn Finnerty of Garden City.

Ryan Mullins , son of Kathleen and Dennis Mullins of Wellington Road in Garden City, recently began studies as a first-year student at Hamilton College. Mullins, a graduate of Chaminade High School, was selected from a pool of 4,444 applicants to the college, and joins a class of 476.

Justin Iadanza , son of Tom and Sandy Iadanza of Garden City, is among those named as winners of the Denison University Heritage Scholarship. Iadanza is a 2004 graduate of Garden City Senior High School.

Among Denison’s most prestigious awards, the Heritage Scholarship is a half-tuition award and is renewable for four years if the student achieves and maintains a stipulated grade point average.
