St. Joseph School had its’ first official day of classes for grades 1 to 8 on Wednesday, September 8. Kindergarten, Pre-K and Nursery students began as well under separate schedules designed to gradually introduce the children to the school day. The rainy weather did not dampen students’ and teachers’ enthusiasm for the school’s 65th year of educating children. The theme of this anniversary year is “Discipleship…a call, a challenge, a gift”, which stresses the importance of being a follower of Christ. Says Principal Patricia A. Devine, “ We want to ensure our children receive a strong religious and academic foundation so that they may achieve their full potential and become moral, responsible, peace-loving citizens of the world. This is our mission. ”
