Senator Hannon Offers Free Forum For Seniors Planning For The Future
Senator Kemp Hannon (R-6th S.D.) is sponsoring a free forum for senior citizens and their families entitled, "Protecting Your Life's Work". The forum will be held Tuesday, September 21st at the Farmingdale Public Library, 116 Merritts Road, 1:00PM to 3:00PM with check-in starting at 12:45PM "I am offering this free forum because the "Golden Years" can be difficult for seniors and their families who very often don't understand what their options are or even worse, are not prepared to deal with the loss of income or an illness.", Senator Hannon said. "It is my hope that with a better understanding of services, our "Golden Years" can be a time to do the things we've always dreamed of doing." Hannon said The forum will feature the following panelists: Ray Donnelly and Jim Appelt, of Senior Network Solutions; Sheila M. Lyons, an Elder Law Attorney; Elizabeth Pollina Donlon, an Estate Planning Attorney; John Coyle, Executive Director of Pathways to Independent Living; and Marlene Botta, an EPIC representative. Senator Hannon said, "They will guide us through the complex and complicated world of Elder Law, Estate Planning, Long Term Care Insurance, a self-directed approach to home care and prescription protection for seniors. In addition to the forum, free materials will be available about other issues of concern to senior citizens. Reservations are necessary and can be made by calling the Community Office at 739-1700.
