GCHS PTA Hosts New York Times Blogger

The Garden City High School PTA hosted a packed house at its January 30th PTA meeting, featuring Jacques Steinberg, writer of the New York Times college admissions blog, "The Choice." Mr. Steinberg is also the author of The Gatekeepers: Inside the Admissions Process of a Premier College, a book about his year in the admissions office of Wesleyan University.

Locust first-grade teacher Millie Joyce was recently awarded a $400 grant from Target to fund a field trip to the Queens Zoo for all Locust first-graders next month. While there, students will take part in the zoo's "Survival Needs" workshop, a program focused on animals and their adaptations.
